Iliotibial band syndrome (Runner’s knee): Inflammation is caused by iliotibial band scraping against lateral femur. There is a feeling of tense and discomfort in the lateral knee, and pain gradually increases. Pain is prone to develop during running, but subsides when athletes rest, then returns once running is resumed.
